Within the urban hotel, the kids and teens club, named Kidsdom, presents a diverse program filled with activities. These activities range from Thai boxing and umbrella painting to plaster model painting, arts and crafts using recycled materials, and origami.

Kidsdom is comprised of several sections designed to cater to different age groups and interests. The “gaming zone” offers games like Chess, Monopoly, Uno, Jenga, Tic-tac-toe, table football, and others. The “teen club zone” provides a drawing board, watercolors, coloring pencils and crayons, and painted plaster dolls. Additionally, Kidsdom features a “mini club” with Lego, rocking horses, indoor sliders, a ball house, and wooden block puzzles. It also includes a library zone, TV zone, and nap studio.

Adjacent to the hotel’s expansive outdoor swimming pool on the second floor, a shallow pool area has been introduced specifically for children. This watery playground features two water slides, a rain curtain, water fountains, and a large tipping bucket, providing ample entertainment for young guests.

Located in the heart of Chiang Mai city in the mountainous north of Thailand, Meliá Chiang Mai offers an ideal starting point for exploring the diverse range of tourist attractions, markets, and Buddhist temples in the area. The hotel organizes captivating excursions to renowned temples like Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep and Wat Umong, as well as attractions such as the Chiang Mai Night Safari.

One unique experience is the “Elephant PooPoo Paper Park,” which offers an educational “interpretive walking tour” through lush gardens and eight distinct pavilions. The tour showcases the sustainable process of creating tree-free paper products using fibers from elephant poop, from collection to rinsing and final product assembly. During the self-guided tour, families are encouraged to actively participate in the craft-making process alongside the park’s skilled artisans and guides, crafting paper for items like cards, paper pads, journals, and more.

Drawing inspiration from Meliá’s Spanish heritage and highlighting Spain’s renowned culinary traditions, Meliá Chiang Mai features a variety of dining venues, including Mai Restaurant and Bar, Laan Na Kitchen, Mai The Sky Bar, Tien Pool Bar, and Ruen Kaew Lounge. Among the delectable offerings, freshly made classic churros served with a warm dipping sauce are particularly popular among younger guests.

The hotel’s YHI Spa provides a range of treatments catering to women, men, and even children. Specifically designed for children aged six to twelve, the “Kids Therapy” offers either a 45-minute or 60-minute session. The therapy begins with stretching exercises and animal yoga poses to promote relaxation and prevent hyperactivity. It is followed by a gentle massage using HARNN coconut oils, known for their soothing properties and ability to alleviate skin irritation.
