Square Enix has announced the upcoming release of two new official companion books tied to Final Fantasy XVI, both scheduled for publication in 2026 under the Square Enix Books imprint. The first title, LOGOS: The World of Final Fantasy XVI, is set to launch in March 2026, followed by The Art of Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Rising Tide in May of the same year.
Set in the richly imagined world of Valisthea, Final Fantasy XVI introduced players to a realm steeped in magic, political intrigue, and sprawling lore. While the game offered a glimpse into its characters and kingdoms, much of its deeper history and culture remained untold. LOGOS: The World of Final Fantasy XVI aims to fill that gap. Written from the in-world perspective of Valisthean scholar Harpocrates II Hyperboreos, this expansive lore compendium presents journal entries, letters, character conversations, and other narrative fragments that explore Valisthea’s music, literature, religion, culinary traditions, and more.
Adding a unique dimension to the book are contributions from the English-language voice cast of the game. Ben Starr (Clive), Stewart Clarke (Dion), and Christopher York (Gav) each offer original writings that further expand on their characters’ lives and perspectives, making this edition a standout for fans and collectors alike.
LOGOS: The World of Final Fantasy XVI (ISBN 978-1-64609-312-0, $44.99 USD) is scheduled for release in March 2026.
Arriving two months later in May 2026 is The Art of Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Rising Tide, a new 92-page hardcover companion art book that showcases visuals from the game’s downloadable content episodes Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide. This volume serves as a follow-up to the best-selling The Art of Final Fantasy XVI and features concept art, character and enemy designs, and environmental illustrations. Notably, it includes exclusive artwork by Final Fantasy XVI lead artist Kazuya Takahashi, all printed on archival-quality paper for collectors.
The Art of Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Rising Tide (ISBN 978-1-64609-495-0, $24.99 USD) will be released in May 2026.
To commemorate the announcement, both books are now available for advance preorder through the Square Enix Store. Preorders of LOGOS: The World of Final Fantasy XVI will include a set of three exclusive clear pull-out bookmarks, while preorders of The Art of Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Rising Tide will come with an exclusive art print.
