Inside the new Louis Vuitton’s Ginza Namiki-dori store

Louis Vuitton’s Ginza Namiki-dori store was opened in 1981 and was managed directly in Japan.  During the rebuilt, the store was relocated and opened in the Tokyo Ginza Asahi Building.  After three years, a brand new seven-story Ginza Namiki-dori store will be open on March 20, 2021.

The first four floors of Louis Vuitton Ginza Namiki-dori include a diverse lineup such as travel bags, leather goods, ready-to-wear, accessories, shoes, watches & fine jewelry, and fragrances.

First floor: Women’s leather goods, watches & fine jewelry

On the first floor, there are new bags, watches and fine jewelry from the latest collection.  In addition, a special pop-up space is set up in the back, where the items are changes regularly. 

To celebrate the opening, Comme des Garcons collaborated with Louis Vuitton with two limited edition bags. The bags feature black grain cowhide leather with monogram pattern and removable pouch on the interior.

Second floor: Leather goods, fragrances

On the second floor, there are trunks and leather goods for traveling in addition to the home collection and fragrances.  A custom paint service space is located on the same floor.  You can order original illustrations and initial paint on the trunk and bags.  You can also watch the craftsmen paint on the leather goods as well.

Third floor: Women’s ready-to-wear,  women’s leather goods and accessories

The 3rd floor has a lineup from women’s ready-to-wear collection.  The warm oak-based space is lit by soft sunlight through circular shaped windows that complement the items in the space.

Fourth floor: Men’s ready-to-wear, men’s leather goods and accessories

Men’s ready-to-wear collection can be found on the 4th floor.  On the right hand side, you will find a spacious shoe corner ready-to-wear collection will be on the left side.

Limited and pre-sale items available at Ginza Namiki-dori store

For men, a lineup of limited-edition items such as short sleeve shirt with monogram and watercolor painting, which will be available only at Ginza Namiki-dori.  In addition, suede sneakers decorated with beads and sequins.

To commemorate the opening, a collaboration with 11th generation Ebizo Ichikawa will be released in limited quantity.  The Monogram Canvas Makeup Case features the Narita-ya’s crest Sansho.  The lid is made of water-repellent material designed by Hosoo in Nishijin-ori, Kyoto.

Private salon will be located on the 6th floor for guests to relax while shopping.  

The second Le Cafe V in the world is open on the top floor

On the 7th floor, which is the top floor, you will find Le Cafe V, managed by Yosuke Suga.  The cafe menus include cocktails, light meal for both lunch and dinner, and desserts. 

The furniture of Pierre Paulin and Stephen Leo, as well as the works of Ed Moses and other artists are displayed throughout the store.

  1. Am wondering why Lois Vuitton allowed the architects to use mirrored materials on its facade of such an important store? The appearance is likely going to contribute to unnecessary bird deaths. Do the shoppers of their brand really want to be associated with such an environmentally unfriendly building?
