The conclusion of a three-day exhibition at New York City’s Hudson Yards complex was marked by an exclusive charity auction during the Ferrari Gala. The black-tie event unfolded at The Shed performing arts center on October 17 and witnessed a substantial contribution to Ferrari’s ongoing commitment to supporting education. Rooted deeply in its territory and consistently aiding international relief efforts, Ferrari has been a longstanding advocate for educational initiatives. The success of the New York auction underscored the generous collaboration within Ferrari’s close-knit community to support the company’s philanthropic endeavors.

Eight lots, representing the diverse facets of today’s Ferrari—from sports cars and racing to lifestyle collections—went under the hammer. The standout item was the Tailor Made Ferrari 812 Competizione, featuring striking custom yellow paintwork. One of only 999 examples, its design showcased bold strokes and handwritten notations inspired by sketches from Ferrari Chief Design Officer Flavio Manzoni, creating a captivating 3-dimensional illusion. The unique car garnered spirited bidding, reaching an impressive $5.1 million. Other items, including the Amalgam scale model of the 812 Competizione, the Montblanc Stilema SP3, and a unique Formula 1 experience, also surpassed their estimates.

The funds raised will contribute to furthering Ferrari’s long-term commitment to education, initiated by the company’s founder, who commissioned The Alfredo Ferrari Institute of Higher Education in Maranello 60 years ago. These projects aim to be more ambitious and international, aligning with the company’s goal to provide resources to students from diverse backgrounds in local communities.

Post-auction, 12-time Grammy®-winning artist John Legend graced the stage for a soulful performance. VIP clients, special guests, Formula 1 drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, director Michael Mann, and actors Adam Driver and Nicholas Hoult were among the attendees. Ferrari executives, including CEO Benedetto Vigna, Chief Design Officer Flavio Manzoni, and Ferrari Lifestyle Creative Director Rocco Iannone, were also present.

The New York event showcased Ferrari’s influence on sports cars, racing, lifestyle, and more. A special display around The Vessel featured 14 significant Ferrari vehicles, representing the company’s heritage from the 1948 166 MM to the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning 499P Le Mans Hypercar. The event paid homage to the vibrant spirit of innovation in the American metropolis.

A private showroom focused on the Ferrari Lifestyle Collection, offering personalized style consultations by Creative Director Rocco Iannone and exclusive access to unique pieces commemorating the event.

The Ferrari Gala venue also displayed the legendary factory-modified 1962 Ferrari 330 LM/250 GTO, with a unique competition history, set to be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s in New York on November 13. Considered among the most significant automobiles ever made, this is the first 250 GTO to come to public auction since 2018 when a similar car set a then-world record of $48.4 million in Monterey.
